Blessed be the Lord God of our Forefathers who blessed us with all the richest blessings of the Heavenly Places!  By the grace of God we are in good health and the works in these region are going on smoothly.

Report on Manasapriya’s Roofless House:

[In April's update, it was reported that the home of Manasapriya, one of the girls served by Messiah Missions India, had suffered the total destruction of the roof due to an earthquake over the region she lives in.  Below are two photos depicting the home before repair.]

Manasapriya is the eldest daughter to Rekha Kamal. She has two other siblings also. When Rekhas husband was addicted to alcoholism there began trouble in the family. Rekha and her children were deserted and were suffering without food for days and nights.

In the meantime, MESSIAH MISSIONS began a ministry in this village. Manasapriya was so excited to hear the Love of God in Christ. She began to read the bible and learnt action songs. Actually sister Thankamma Mohan worked hard in the village to teach them verses and songs.

Later Manasapriya’s case came to the notice of our International Director Rev. Dr. Steven E. Ray. Manasapriya is the one among the three female children directly cared for and sponsored by the Director.

Because of Manasapriya’s interest, she brought her mother also to the prayer meetings. After coming over here and atending Rekha got a new hope in Life. Everythig is not finished, something will come new on her way. We supported her to write the failed examination in Intermediate and she joined for Diploma in Education a Teachers training course. As she was from a scheduled caste origen, the local authorities also came forward to help her granting aschlorship.

As she finished her Diploma in Education she got job in Christ’s School [a Christian school under Catholic management]. The priest gave her a job because she professed to be a believer.

On April 11 and 13, we had heavy rains and minor earthquake here. Many houses lost their roofs, and asbesto sheets which covered the roofs flew away. Rekha also lost her roof. We went and comforted her and prayed for her.

Pastor John mohan reported the matter to the International Office of the Messiah Missions office and the International Director took special care in this matter and supported liberally for the roof of the Manasapriya’s house through Messiah Missions’s donations.

Pastor John Mohan met Mrs. Kamalamma which is the Leader of the area and also a relative of Rekha and we discussed the matter in group.

It was decided to put Mangalore tiles since some more money is needed for buying cement, sand [now a days very costly. Rs. 7000/- for a tractor load.] Cement is 360 /- INR per 50 kilo gram sack. And two doors and frames which costed 3000 INR per door and frame.

The work was done in a phase by phase manner. First the roof was restored immediately because it is rainy season and there is not other shelter to give them for temporary living. Next the front portion was cemented. Next the toilet was cemented and the two door frames are fixed and the walls are carved and cemented.

Manasapriya and her family are now safe and they live in a secure house. Housing in this area is very problematic; to put this family outside somewhere up till the housing works completed. Big amount they ask for the monthly rent also. Anyhow Manasapriya is happy now. She had passed to the higher standard in her school. She is fastly learning ENGLISH AND MATHEMATICS now a days as she is aiming bigger aspects in her life for the future. By the by she is improving in health and complexion. Other Ministry News

We had some rainfall for the last month and it is raining too for some areas of south India .

• A small prayer meeting for the Bangalore suburban evangelists also conducted this month.
• Pastor Suresh is doing well and his wife is recovering from her key-hole surgery.
• Brother Evangelist Satish chandra seems always on the run on his BAJAJ CT 100 bike, thanking for the Fuel support provided by generious donations through Messiah Missions, USA.
• Brother Samuel’s family blessed with a male child last Monday morning at 8-30 am. This is the second male child to our evangelists after Mrs Rekha Ravi delivered a male child three months back.
• Brother Philip and Shanti are doing a good job in Erode in Tamil Nadu and 5 people were baptized last month in Perumanallur , where they work. All the new believers are from very poor background but they are strong in the Lord Jesus Christ and rich in the Spirit of God.
• Brother Prabhakar is doing a good job in Mandya. 15 adult persons gathered in the prayer meeting there. Actually Brother Prabhakar was engaged in a government job up to two month’s back and was retired recently. Since his spiritual life is good he began o work for the Lord visiting sick people’s houses for praying for the sick. In the sick peoples house when some people gathered he told about the Love of God in Christ to the on lookers. Now a good gathering he has and he willed to work MESSIAH MISSIONS. He knows within six months time his congregation will be developed.
• Brother Susairajan sends his greetings to the Reverend and Mrs. Seven E. Ray. He is full of the Holy Spirit and power. He knows only the vernacular but he has a zeal for the Lord’s ministry.
• My son led the service here in Nanjangud Town and I conducted the Lord’s supper and preached from I CORINTHIANS 1; 26 and Romans 8: 38 & 39.   I think he is not mature to conduct the Lord’s supper yet. But he is improving in Ministry.

During our 2-hour work, We had many great conversations with Christian believers and non-believers. There were many people who were curious what the sign ‘Have you heard the good news?’ meant, which helped us strike up a conversation about Christ and other religions and beliefs, as well as touching doctrinal topics.

Many people were interested in specific topics so it was very useful to have material — a great variety of tracts, CDs, panphlets and books, all for free — available in each of the different topics for those interested.

Steven’s comment on Facebook aptly summed up our experience: “Evangelism in the heart of New York, underground in a major subway at rush hour. We were very busy with people and they were mostly receptive. Why? Because we merely shared Christ’s compassion with gratitude for each person. No man-made techniques, no alienating apologetics, no fanatical concepts, no scripted methods, no bible thumping… people are hungry, no, starving for love and hope with simplicity. It was never meant to be complicated.” 

Steven went on to later comment “We were not particulary inspired to replicate the method we witnessed. Verse arming ourselves with materials to contest with faiths, beliefs, and sins… the canonical Scripture reveals the proper mode of evangelism is the presentation of Jesus and his finished work on the cross. As Paul aptly wrote in I Corinthans 2:4 ‘My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.’ and again in 1 Corithians 1:17 ‘For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel–not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.’ “

The experience was very educational and rewarding, and we at Messiah Missions will be exploring the possibility of implementing a carefully developed table outreach in our board meeting early May, according to God’s will and direction. PASTORS SEMINAR HELD

In the small town of Meenangadi, 20 plus pastors and evangelists turned up and with them came some seekers also.

Sharing the testimonies and from the Word of God and  made 10 persons to take first time decisions for their eternity. Songs were also sweet. A fellowship lunch was served.

Pastor John spoke about 4 Laws of  salvation:
A Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior   [John 1;12]
B. Believe He has forgiven your sins [after confessing to Him  Pro.28;13]
C. Correct your life as per the Word of God and walk with Him   PS.1;3
D. Declare Jesus is the deliverer from sin and sickness

Also, Mrs Mini, wife of pastor Suresh Paul, who is evangelising Kuppadi, Irulam and Pulpalli areas in the Karnataka and Kerala state borders, and who also is a hindu convert and stands for the Lord. She got symptoms of a weak heart last year. We were praying very often and that time situation will improve. At last a key hole surgery was operated on her last week. She is bed rest now. Pastor John Mohan visited her and prayed for her. Pastor also handed over to her some help apart from a support for monthly rent for the prayer hall. She covets all Messiah Missions partners to pray for her.

ANSWER TO PRAYER FOR A VEHICLE FOR EVANGELISM

Brother Satish Chandra was born in a tribal caste called naikkas. They are also called chola naickas. Some of his people still live on tree tops. Some of them live in caves and in the forest of Wayanadu hills.

He came to the Lord through us and he is a good soul winner.  I visited him some months ago and put his testimony here.

I went this week to bless his evangelism work in the new vehicle.

PRAYER REQUESTS AND OTHER NEEDS

Your daughter MANASAPRIYA wrote her year end examinations and got through to the 9th standard. She is happy but the house she and her mother live in collapsed in the recent winds and light earthquake that happened here day before yesterday.

However she is happily wetgrinds chutney for the meal, and reads her new testament to her mother.

Thanks to unexpected and generous donations, Messiah Missions was able to finance the Easter dinner for that outreach of over 125 individuals. For those of us attending, it was a real privilege to share the compassion of Christ with them. There were many happy faces and crying eyes as hope was shared with those normally filled with hopelessness.

“Meet Me Under the Bridge” was founded about seven years ago by Kathy Albright and it has been working faithfully as a support for homeless people. Those faithful to this outreach have been adamant to support those without shelter, often meeting under bridges, in alleys and abandoned buildings. The team is very compassionate and dedicated to its mission.

Vasu began to come for the prayer meetings in November 2010. But his wife was against changing religions. Vasu told thed important thing is not changing religion, but knowing true god and to know the true way of salvation. Then his wifwe also turned up. They have two children.

But never did his wife allow him to sit or kneel in the prayer service. She used to make a lot of problems. In the end, it came to pass that she had three demons inside her and in a prayer meeting they announced their names and went away.

The next thing was to find a way of living. He was stealing firewood from reserved forests, he was cutting Teak wood from Government plantations, and he was selling Arrack tro find a living. After his conversion he wanted to leave them all and live like a disciple of Christ. Messiah Missions had to support some amount because he is from the tribal background and he came to the Lord through us.

He learnt Hair cutting, shaving and Hair dyeing and started a saloon here.

When Pastor John Mohan met him again recently, he is ever more happier than before. His wife is also continuing in good faith.

This is a clear evidence of how MESSIAH MISSION changing lives in the remote areas of India./KARNATAKA.

One of these doors is Good News Ministries in central Indianapolis. They serve adults and children living surrounded by –and sometimes in the middle of- high-risk lifestyles like gang life, drugs, abuse, broken families and in total poverty.

We at Messiah Missions sense God’s call to support Good News Ministries in their work to provide the children with a safe space to do homework after school, a warm meal and Bible study every day.

In light of this call, Johanna has had the opportunity to start tutoring in Spanish a young man named Mark. His level of Spanish is low compared to those of his classmates in the new school he attends. He has been fortunate to attend a new school thanks to a scholarship he has been granted. His grades are of course a concern for him.

During this work, we have also seen one adult tutoring about 15 little students, which reflects the urgent need for qualified adults willing to help young students who don’t have anyone else but the team of good-willed volunteers.

We also had the great opportunity to join 40+ children and a couple staff members at a Spring Break outing at Cool Creek Park in Noblesville, IN. Again, we saw how the team extends themselves for different tasks – all for the glory of God.

Options include tutoring, mentoring, medical services to sharing the Gospel. There are all kinds of opportunities where we can put God’s love into action. United Nations childrens’ agency warns 1.5 million children risk severe malnutrition if famine warnings are ignored. In the Sahel, rainfall is scarce, river basins are uneven and have low water tables for crops and livestock. Nearly 13 million people face a serious food crisis that threatens to balloon into a large-scale humanitarian emergency in the Sahel, Oxfam aid agency has warned.

The children, women and the elderly often suffer the most during food crises. This year alone, 1 million children will become malnourished, placing them at risk for permanent disability and an early death. Children in Niger and the entire Sahel region will be forced to drop out of school to help search for food for their families, or because they are so hungry they can’t get to class.

That’s why we’re trying to contribute to their financial goal, which can provide 800 children with warm, nutritious lunches at school every day for three months. Not only will these children be guaranteed a meal every day, but they’ll be able to stay in school. Children who get their education are more likely to grow up with the knowledge, skills and access they need to develop long-term solutions to hunger and poverty for all.
